I started working on restoring the traffic light my wife found at the MOPAR Alley swap meet last month. Made some good progress and called it a day when it got about 105 outside. Perfect weather for painting but since I'm really at the cleanning and sanding stage its not really great weather.
So here are some pics of my progress.

Front side. I took out the colored lenses a week or so ago and put them in a safe location.
Back side of the light fixtures
Disasembly pretty much complete
I got one of the three boxes cleaned up and primered. Just too hot to do any more work for the day.
I didn't take any pictures of taking apart and cleaning the light fixtures and reflectors but I sanded each of the frames and polished the reflectors. One was stained pretty bad in one section but will still reflect light really well. Here is one of them all clean and shinney.
I will work on the others this week and hopefully I will get each of the housings painted next weekend.

So what does the future hold for those now that they belong to you?

Quess it will depend on how they turn out.
I will buy a signal controller and build a stand if they look good and everything works when I done.
I have a street sign that my wife had made for me years ago and I will see if I can make a mount of some kind to attach it to the traffic signal.
I was thinking about having some vinyl words made to put on the lenses that say LOVE, LIVE, LAUGH or MOPAR, OR, NO CAR or the classic STOP, GO like HELL, GO

Then you have to take a picture with the 3 cars in the photo, now that would be very cool

Cool score. I have one very similar. I picked up some 12V bulbs for it that fit the sockets. Got them at an RV supply store. Also picked up a flasher on ebay that can be set in different flash patterns. I have it hanging in the garage, but hooking up the lighting must wait until the Cuda is done.

I got the last two buckets sanded and primmered.
Hopefully I will have them painted and ready for assembly soon.

Here are some pictures from today.
Its interesting that the paint turned to a darker green after it dryed in the sun for a few hours.
I'm going to give everything a few more days to cure before bolting it back together.
The boring part is over, now is when things start getting interesting.

I still have to isntall the controller for the lights and build a stand.
I also got a used glass green lens for it. THe one on it now is plastic and somewhat messed up.

Very cool project, I see you have it in the house now - when I got my 72 we lived in an apartment complex and I did all my detailing of the small pieces and parts there - we had space above the cupboards and I stored all the finished work up top. Fortunately my mom didn't come over much.
